Saffron Milk:
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

  • A pinch of saffron threads

  • (Optional sweetener) Jaggery, honey or maple syrup

Directions:
  • Heat the milk in a saucepan until warm but not boiling.

  • Add a pinch of saffron threads and let it steep for a 3 to 5 minutes.

  • Add optional sweetener if desired.

  • Can be enjoyed any time of day, although its calmative properties make it an ideal friend before bedtime.


Saffron Infused Oil:
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil or almond oil

  • A pinch of saffron threads (about 5 - 10 strands)

Directions:
  • Combine the oil and saffron threads in a glass jar.

  • Let it sit in a warm place for a few days to infuse the oil with saffron's aroma and properties.

  • Use the saffron-infused oil for cooking, as a dressing, or as a massage oil for relaxation (feet and hands), and all over skin nourishment. Avoid sensitive areas like around the eyes.


Saffron Rice with Golden Flavor:
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup basmati rice

  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads

  • 2 cups water salt to taste

Directions:
  • Rinse rice, soak in 2 cups hot water for 15 minutes together with saffron threads, then bring to boil, immediately reduce to lowest heat, keep covered, for 15 minutes, then switch off heat and leave to sit 3 minutes before opening pot, serving and enjoying!
